Breathe Easy - A Quick win to destress quickly

The other day when talking to a client who regularly meditates wanted a quick win to help in between dealing with clients, home schooling and controlling stress levels.

'Box Breathing' is simple and easy and can be done anywhere, any time.

• The technique is also known as "resetting your breath" or foursquare breathing

• It is easy to do, quick to learn, and can be a highly effective technique for people in stressful situations

• Box breathing is a simple technique that a person can do anywhere but has been used in high stress jobs such as the army and police force

If it helps you can visualise (MUCH LIKE BLOWING A DANDILION CLOCK) or draw a picture of a box with your finger in the air.

Then repeat silently in your mind the following:

1. Breathe in 234

2. Hold 234

3. Breathe out 234

4. Hold 234

Repeat until feeling calm and focussed.
